In partnership with WRKF and WWNO.

Following the killing of George Floyd, the national discussion of police reform and accountability took on a new urgency. But more than a year later, little has changed. As ProPublica’s reporting on New York City’s police department and WRKF/WWNO's recent investigation on the Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana’s Jefferson Parish have revealed, many law enforcement agencies operate with little to no outside oversight, making it difficult to hold police accountable.

By examining investigations from New Orleans Public Radio (WRKF/WWNO) and ProPublica, editors and reporters from both news organizations will distill larger lessons on how accountability really works for law enforcement.
